The “STARS” are synonymous with independently assessed and qualified accommodation standards and have become an internationally recognised symbol of quality assurance.

They help travellers evaluate and select the right accommodation for their next trip and are the third most influential source of information in Australia - behind pictures of accommodation and recommendations from family or friends.

Below are some more statistics derived from recent consumer research undertaken by the Sweeney Research group.

  • 94% of travellers rate Cleanliness as the most important aspect of a STAR Rating.
  • 90% of travellers want STAR Ratings to measure quality.
  • 85% of travellers have used the “STARS” when choosing a place to stay.
  • 75% of travellers believe STAR Ratings are very useful when short-listing and evaluating accommodation.
