Paul Baumgartner (General Manager STAR Ratings Australia)
Paul has extensive experience in the travel and tourism sector having worked in North America, United Kingdom and Europe holding senior management positions within the UK’s largest travel company.
During this time Paul was responsible for the product development and overseas operations for the UK’s two largest snow sports holiday brands, including the management of over 30 hotels and almost 200 catered chalets. Both companies enjoyed considerable success over this period, winning numerous industry awards.
More recently Paul moved back to Australia joining AAA Tourism as the National Manager of the Australian STAR Rating Scheme. This Scheme is provided by the Australian Auto Clubs and is the official STAR Rating Scheme for a range of accommodation types across Australia and Fiji.

George Campbell (National Operations Manager)
A Senior Operations Manager with a proven track record and reputation for building strong teams which have delivered outstanding results.
He has been National Operations Manager with AAA Tourism since 2005 where he has demonstrated his passion for creating a strong sense of teamwork with a focus on outcomes based on individual and organisation values.
This passion for teamwork and results driven performance has extended in to external involvement with ‘Elite’ soccer players within the Football Federation Victoria and local community soccer.
George previously worked with the RACV and worked in a diverse range of management roles including insurance, financial, motoring and touring products.

David Kemp (Assistant National Operations Manager)
David joined the AAA Tourism STAR Ratings Australia (SRA) Team in January 2008 as the Trade Marks Manager. He was recently appointed Assistant Operations Manager with responsibilities including managing the Assessor’s schedules and operator and industry feedback.
David has had an extensive career in customer service, management and sales environments, including 27 years with RACV.
In his private life, David enjoys keeping fit and officiates as an Australian Rules Football Umpire, at senior level, on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. His other interests include cricket, wine appreciation and travel.

Lyn Kennedy (Quality and Compliance Officer)
Lyn’s career in the Hospitality industry started in the early 1980’s with the management of several Hotels, Motels and Serviced Apartment operations throughout Australia with a focus on New South Wales and Queensland.
In 2000, Lyn joined AAA Tourism as an Accommodation Assessor for the Northern NSW and Hunter region and surrounds. Four years later, she commenced in her current position as Quality and Compliance Officer. In this position Lyn is responsible for the coordination of various projects that ensures the integrity and quality management of the STAR Rating Scheme. This primarily involves the training and development of Accommodation Assessors and undertaking various auditing processes.

Gary Sutton (Trade Marks Manager)
Gary assumed the role of Trade Marks Manager in April 2008 following an extensive career in various sales roles. He’s responsible for ensuring AAA Tourism’s ownership of the Australian STAR Rating system is correctly observed by the industry in general.
His experience in Business to Business selling enables him to apply these skills when assessing each case on its merits and this includes identifying genuine opportunities for new members to become part of the STAR Rating Scheme.

Kirsten Reitsema (Assessing Administration Coordinator)
Kirsten joined AAA Tourism in November 2008, having previously developed a wealth of knowledge in the recruitment and travel industries. Kirsten's extensive customer service experience enables her to provide STAR Rating clients with the highest level of support.
As Assessing Administration Coordinator, Kirsten is responsible for assisting operators and consumers with STAR Rating enquiries and processing consumer feedback.
Kirsten has travelled extensively throughout Europe, North America and Asia. She is looking forward to seeing more of Europe in the coming years.

Gordon Kelly (Assessing Coordinator)
Gordon comes to AAA Tourism after 8 years at the RACV, where he worked in RACV Retail Shops. He was a Touring Consultant, regularly booking members accommodation from either the Accommodation Guide or Tourist Park Guide.
Gordon’s major responsibility is customer service of Operators which involves liaising between Operators and Assessors.
Gordon would one day love to take a drive holiday around Australia in a Kombi Van.

Julie Stanley ( Project Manager)
Julie has been involved in the tourism industry for 20 years with previous employment with Budget Car Rental, Melbourne Convention Bureau and Geelong Otway Tourism. Her current involvement with AAA Tourism is to manage the Scheme Review process for the various categories of accommodation in the Australian STAR Rating Scheme.
She loves to travel to interesting destinations especially the USA where she feels it is all happening in the tourism industry.
